Project 51 Events (1999-2000)

OCTOBER 1999
Los Angeles County Fire Department 75th Anniversary Celebration. Official Kick-off of Project 51 held at the Gene Autry Museum.

Irvine, Ca. Countywide Fire and Safety Expo sponsored by local fire departments. Actors Randolph Mantooth and Robert Fuller from "Emergency!" and rescue truck (Squad 51) participated. Attendance in excess of 2,000 for the day.

MARCH 2000
Orlando, FL. Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) Conference. More than 1,000 people attended reception for Randy Mantooth.

APRIL
Los Angeles. EMS Conference at Universal Sheraton. Actors Randy Mantooth and Kevin Tighe participated.

Las Vegas. L.V.F.D. daylong safety fair at "Fremont Experience". Actors Randy Mantooth and Marco Lopez and rescue truck (Squad 51) participated. Visitors to Project 51 display estimated at nearly 2,000.

Las Vegas. Randy Mantooth and rescue truck at annual EMS Conference of International Association of Fire Chiefs. Mantooth officially opened the program.

Universal City. Official send-off of Project 51 on its way to Washington, D.C. Mantooth and rescue truck participate in press conference (April 27)

MAY
Washington, D.C. Randy Mantooth and "Emergency!" honored by the Congressional Fire Services Institute. (May 3.)

Chicago. Open house event with Chicago FD at Training Center. Estimated attendance in excess of 1,000. Randy Mantooth and rescue truck (May 6.)

Long Beach, N.Y. Daylong festival at FD headquarters on Long Island with many local volunteer fire departments and their guests. Randy Mantooth and rescue truck. Estimated attendance 1500-2000 (May 10.)

Baltimore. Randy Mantooth throws out first ball at Orioles baseball game. Rescue truck on display. (May 11.)

Baltimore. Randy Mantooth grand Marshal of annual Preakness Parade. Rescue truck and entire Project 51 team riding on fire vehicles in parade. (May 13)

Hyattsville, MD. Luncheon available to the public to recognize importance of "Emergency!" TV Show. Randy Mantooth plus "Emergency!" cast actors Tim Donnelly, Marco Lopez, Ron Pinkard and Mike Stoker were honored. (May 14.)

Washington, D.C. Special White House evening tour for Project 51 team members. (May 14.)

Hyattsville, MD. "Emergency! Fest," daylong event at FD headquarters with Randy Mantooth, rescue truck and cast members Tim Donnelly, Marco Lopez, Ron Pinkard, and Mike Stoker.

Washington D. C. Donation of paramedic equipment from rescue truck to the Smithsonian Museum of American History. (May 16.)

Washington, D.C. Tour culminates with speech given by Randy Mantooth on Capitol Mall at the Emergency Medical Services recognition event sponsored by the American College of Emergency Physicians. (May 16.)
